Classic Winter Wedding At The Woman’s Club of Minneapolis

Blaire & Magnus | January 19, 2019

As we are hit with yet another April blizzard, it has been so nice to spend the day reminiscing over how gorgeous winter was before we were all sick of it. The Woman’s Club of Minneapolis, a historic 1920’s venue located right on Loring Park, was the perfect location for Blaire and Magnus’ black tie destination wedding back in January.

I know what you’re thinking. “Destination?! It’s Minnesota in January for pete’s sake!” But for this laid-back Minnesota-born bride and Norwegian groom, who met here in the Midwest at the University of North Dakota and are currently living in Norway; a classy, cozy, candlelit winter wedding in the heart of Minneapolis was exactly what they had dreamed of. Along with the couple, many of their guests were traveling from Norway to attend, and it was the perfect atmosphere to host them in true Minnesnowta fashion.

A muted cream and silver color palette made a great background to allow the personal details of the day to really pop. From the bride getting to wear her grandmother’s fur, to boxes of handmade truffles at every place setting, to a live fashion illustrator capturing the bride and groom. This day mixed old-world vibes with modern touches that truly let the personality of the couple shine. If I have not yet gotten across how freaking cool these two are: as they walked down the aisle the pianist played a beautifully moody Game of Thrones ballad (Light of the Seven) which was everrrrything. Opting for a small bridal party, the Maid of Honor and Best Man were stunning in a navy blue.
